In order to get our Classic Reading Challenge 2011 up and running - I'm looking for volunteers to help out with chapter summaries of To Kill a Mocking Bird .... Send me a Pm if you are interested in taking part - we should be able to start discussing the book by Monday 24th January. This gives everyone just over a month to get a copy of the book....and gives me time to draw up a timetable.... Looking forward sharing this book with you

Sassenach - I'd love to be involved, but in all honesty I'm afraid to commit myself to something before I know I'll manage to be able to do it. I've been busier than expected for much of the fall and I'm not sure whether I'll reread the book or maybe try to listen. If the latter, it will be tougher to go back and write a good summary. So, the upshot is, can I tell you later whether I can summarize chapters? I'll try to be involved in the discussions no matter what. But, wimp that I am, I'm a bit intimidated about writing summaries since people here do such a great job and I'm not sure I can commit to do it well.

Please don't be intimidated -we're all friends together and everyone's contribution is valid -I'm going to split the book up into sections -so if you want to join in at any stage just let me know - we've all year to read it, and hopefully we'll make it fun ! Harper Lee will never be the same again

Bonnielass - Where did you find the Kindle version? I just looked at Amazon and couldn't find one. I have the Kindle app for my laptop and although that's not the way I prefer to read books, I might consider it (especially if it pops up as one of the free downloads!), but I couldn't find it.

I still have to put it through Caliber to convert it to Kindle format but it looks good so far. If it works, I will let you know.

Count me in for a chapter. I still can't believe that I purchased 2 volumes of classics with a 100 books on them for my Nook and To Kill is not one of them, but I can pick up a copy quite easily.
