When I was in Russia last year my friend and stayed on '4th sovetskaya' - fourth soviet street - in a building that was almost exactly as I imagined fifth soviet. Tiny shared kitchen lots of stairs long corridors.
St Petersburg is an amazing place! My friend and I visited a few places from the novel - it was very exciting!

How exciting Caseyjarryn! A friend of mine just came back from a Baltic Sea cruise and St. Petersburg was one of the stops. Being a travel junkie myself, I asked her all sorts of questions, but I had to hold myself back from asking her TBH related questions. Hahaha!
