Ahem. Well, let's see here. So many to chose from really. I'll start with the one I previously mentioned in the other thread. No physical activity here but sometimes it's just a person's presence that can cause a heart to flutter, no? And I think there is so much of that that goes on during the first parts of TBH. So much chemistry. In the general scope of their relationship from start to end, can we consider Leningrad their foreplay?

So, on to the goods! This scene comes from TSG. They are already settled in Arizona in their mobile home. Tatiana is hosting a Tuppperware party for her friend from work and asks Alexander to stay in the shed while the girls do their thing (why?). He's building stuff. Is it the new potato counter? Hehehe I don't remember, but he is working with wood and tools and it's blazing hot. The girls are about finished with their ordering when one guest notices Alexander coming towards the house.

The back kitchen door opened and Alexander stepped in. He was wearing his torn, faded Lees and large brown work boots, in which he must have stood six-five. He was perspiring, and his enormous bronwed bare arms were covered with dirt and wood particles. The short sleeves of his black T-shirt were rolled up to his shoulders, and the slices of gray scars and blue tattoos were clearly visible. " Hello, ladies," he said, staning in the doorway, grinning white teeth at them through his black stubble, a day unshaven. pg. 272

One of my favorite sensual scenes is when Alexander goes to see Tatiana in the hospital late at.night in TBH. I don't have the book with me right now so I will have to come back to add the excerpt. Basically, he is tipsy and sneaks in to see her and can't help kissing her again and then some. Oh boy, that was hot.

Yep, I reread that one after I posted the kiss scene.
In my copy It starts on page 161.. I'm on my phone and the passage is quite long so I won't type it out.

One night a week later, Tatiana woke up feeling her face being stroked. She wanted to open her eyes, but it felt so much like a dream, and she felt so drugged and tired that she let her eyes staye closed. A man with big hands and vodka on his breath was stroking her face. She knew only one man with big hands. She kept her eyes shut, but she knew hat her breathing pattern had changed from deep sleepy breaths to shallow rasps. He stopped touching her. "Tatia!" . . . It was Alexander. He wasn't wearing his hat. There was that look in his molasses eyes again; even in the dark she could make it out. . . . "I'm so glad happy you came to see me, Shura," she whispered, feeling an aching pull in her lower body.
Alexander tilted his head and kissed her deeply on the lips. He let go of her hands, and she wrapped her arms around his neck, pressing herself against him. They kissed as if in a fever . . . they kissed as if the breath were leaving their bodies. The aching in her stomach got to be too much to bear; Taiana opened her mouth and moaned. Alexander took her face into his hands. "You sweet thing," he murmured. "You're the sweetest thing, I don't know what to do, what to do, Tania." He kissed her lips and licked them with his tongue and kissed her eyes and her cheeks and her neck. Tatiana moaned again, still holding on to him; she felt herself incinerating from within. His lips were so insistent and hungry that Tatiana suddenly unable to breathe or sit, started to float down on the bed

Alexander held her up. Tatiana felt his hands gently moving up and down on her partially exposed back where her nightgown opened. Slowly he untied the strings of her gown. Alexandr was completely clothed, sitting on her bed and kissing her as he pulled the nightgown down. Tatiana breathed out, shuddering. He pulled back from her face, still holding her, still whispering. His eyes were blazing. "Tania, you are too much for me . . . I can't take you, not in small doses, not in large ones, not here, not on the street, nowhere." His hands moved around to hold her just above her bandaged ribs. "Shura," she whispered, her whole body aching weakness in her voice. "What's happening to me? What is this?"

Alexander cupped her breasts and fondled them. Flattening one of his palms, he rubbed her nippels in circles. Tatiana moaned. He rubbed them harder. Pulliing away and staring at her breasts, he muttered, "Oh, God . . . look at you . . . ?" Tatiana watched him a he bent down to her breast, put her nipple in his mouth, and sucked it, while rubbing her other nipple with his fingers. Then he sucked the other nipple. Watching and feeling Alexander's lips on her nipples utterly overwhelmed Tatiana. Her hands cluthing his head, she moaned so loudly, that he pulled away and lightly put his had over her mouth. "Shh," he whispered. "They'll hear you outside." His right hand never stopped. Spanning her, his thumb and his little finger kneaded her nipples. Tatiana moaned just as loudly. His left hand went around her mouth a little firmer. "Shh," he said smiling, short of breath. "Shura, I'm going to die." "No, Tatia." "Breathe on me . . . " He breathed on her. She kissed him hotly, her hands not leaving his hair. The friction and pressure on her breasts from his fingers was making her delirious; she moaned with such abandon that Alexander moved away. Tatiana sat in the blue light, topless, naked to her hips, gazing at him and panting. Her hands were gripping the hospital sheet.

"Tania," Alexander said, looking at her with wonder and lust. "How can you be so innocent in this day and age? How can you be so innocent?" "I'm sorry," she said. "I wish I knew more." Moving flush with her, he held her to him. "Knew more!" "Had more experience. I just --" "You're joking, right?" Alexander whispered fiercely. "Don't you understand me at all? It's your innocence that's driving me mad. Can't you see that?"

One wonders what would have happened if the nurse had not interrupted their tryst.

well it's really difiicult to choose. Actually I love all the scenes you mentioned I think the one with the first kiss after he saves her is one of my favourites. I feel it's even more tender and romantic than sensual but I love it.

I'm now rereading SG and have just finished the Tupperware part, WOW, how can anyone forget this scene? But there's actually something that's been bothering me there since I read it the first time. If you remember, in the first chapters of SG there's the part about Alexander's scars and tattoos and about how people react to it on the beach and also about Tatiana's and Alexander's reaction, wearing long sleeves and so on. But in the Tupperware scene, the women act as if it's something sort of attractive and manly even though he rolls his sleeves up so you can see it all, maybe because he still has his shirt on so it's not so scary? I know it's stupid to be bothered about this but it seems sort of inconsistent.

About the scene at the hospital, I've read that in some of the T&A versions there's Alexander's POV about this (I think in the Australian and American versions). Has anybody read this? My
version doesn't have it and I'm curious about it. In TBH it's all about Tatiana's awakening sexuality and how it's difficult for her to handle this, so I wonder what Alexander is thinking about that night.
Of course they were interrupted by the nurse, how else would we have that magic first time in Lazarevo?

I simply love, love, love the scene of the night before Lazarevo where they can't go all the way because of the old ladies but they want to so much and then talk and sleep together the whole night

Riki, I loved reading Alexander's point of view in T&A, especially during the sensual scenes. I will check my copy for Alexander'spov of the hospital scene. As far as the scars and tatoos are concerned, I guess Alexander was no longer worried about revealing them.

Those old ladies at Lazarevo were something else. What comic relief. I loved that night that they slept on top of the oven. It was so sensual as their desire excelled, but so much more emotionally binding that they were finally able to sleep in each others arms.

The tupperware scene isn't my favorite, but it was fresh in my mind. Mmmm. But nice imagery, nonetheless. Hehehe. But the other ones that were mentioned are at the top of my list too! Oo de lally!!! I think PS tried to keep continuity regarding the ladies' reaction to his tattoos by making them totally oblivious to the great war that was just over. Maybe Arizona was too much into the boon docks for them to care about the war.

I don't recall an Alexander POV during the hospital scene in T&A. I have the Avon Paperback edition. The one with the face of a girl and pale pink roses on the cover. If it's there, I can't believe I don't remember it!
