The full title of this publication is Tatiana's Table: Tatiana and Alexander's Recipes for Food and Love. Included are many recipes and anecdotes that deal with the meals Tatiana made for Alexander and her family when they were hungry.
This book also includes the original ending to The Bronze Horseman (Book 1), before it was rewritten to accommodate the sequels. If you haven't read TT, it is worth it and the recipes are great, also.

The recipes are great, but the vignettes in between are so heartwarming. If you have read the series (The Bronze Horseman), these recipes really come to life. I am not a big fan of cabbage, but want to try making it the Russian way in honor of Tatiana and Alexander.

If you should find a copy of Tatiana's Table at a used book sale or garage sale, grab it. It is out of print and sells for $80 and up. It is worth having, even if you haven't read the entire series.

Does anybody know why Tatiana's table is so hard to come by? Why did they stop printing it, I would really like to read it. Anyway, if anybody's interested there's a blog (like Julie and Julia) of someone who tried the recipes. http://tatianas-table.blogspot.com/

Oh no! Out of print? How can that be? I was really looking forward to ordering it but I don't know that I want to spend $80 bucks for it. There is one bookseller who is selling it for $222! What's up with that?! I WILL be on the lookout for it. And what's weird is that PS's website still has a little link to purchase the book. Oh, pues!
Riki, thanks for the link. I might just visit it.

I've been trying to get this book for ages! the cheapest I've found it is on ebay for like $55 AUD .... and some places want up to $800 for it!!! My Library has a few copies, I wonder if they'd sell me one? haha.
Does anyone know why this book is out of print? Surely there are so many people like me who are desperately trying to find an affordable copy?!

You can check Amazon and Barnes and Noble out of print books for used copies, but as far as I can tell there are no plans for a reprint. : (

They may reprint it, though. I remember when I had the hardest time trying to find The Summer Garden. None of the libraries carried it or the bookstores. I had to buy it used on Amazon. When I was in Borders, there were 4 copies sitting there with a new cover which said something about it being the best love story ever told. So, who knows, they may reprint it but I'm with you, no way spending $80+ on it.

I was walking with a friend this evening and she mentioned that she and her son like to go to garage sales. I told her that if she ever sees Tatiana's Table to buy it and I'll happily pay her back as long as it costs less than the $80 people here have mentioned. Doesn't seem likely, but it never helps to mention it to people, right?

I was lucky to purchase a pb copy from Borders.com a year ago for about 30 dollars. The anecdotes between the recipes are great. I have tried the cabbage and just kept thinking of Alexander asking Tatiana to never cook it again inT&A as it conjured up memories of the mass graves in Poland. Oh, Shura.

Ugh! The cabbage scene. Now, when I think of cabbage I do think of Alexander and Tatiana, but not of the giant cabbages. Good thing!

Hmm... There is a copy on eBay for 40 AUD plus shipping.... it's the cheapest I've seen it... Might have to get it, if no one pushes the price up!

For those of you still looking for a copy of TT, Paullina Simons has a Christmas Giveaway Contest going on until November 25th. Here is the link to her site explaining the rules. Worth a try.
