Does anyone know if Diana Gabaldon will be touring the eastern coast to promote Echo in the Bone?

I'm pretty sure she already completed her US book tour for Echo. I checked her site before it was released, and all I remember is that she wasn't coming to Dallas, but she was definitely visiting other US cities. If you look on her site now, all the future tour dates are out of the US. http://www.cco.caltech.edu/~gatti/gabaldon/tours/tours.html

Dec 17: Diana posted a new blog entry addressing when we might expect Book 8 ...

... and what we can expect in 2010:
1. THE EXILE: due out September 28
2. "Custom of the Army" a Lord John novella (part of the WARRIORS anthology)
3. "A Leaf on the Wind of All Hallows": Roger's parent's story (part of the STAR-CROSSED LOVERS anthology)

I would love to cast my vote, but one has to be a member to vote. What does membership with GoodReads.com entail?

um... gee... I'm a member and I don't really know! I get email alerts when other members (with the same invitation process as Facebook) add books to their reading lists. It's actually a nice way to see what others are reading (and if they liked the book), so as to find other reading material.

:bagpipe: Diana has a wonderful post on her blog, Voyages of the Artemis about building scenes.
If you are interested in how scenes come together for Diana, it is a fascinating read.
