:bagpipe: DIANA AT COMICON ~ FRIDAY, OCTOBER 8 ~ 3:15 :bagpipe:

Diana Gabaldon (signing to follow in Autographing Area)
Friday, October 8
Panel Room 7 (1A22)
3:15 – 4:15 pm

There are two CompuServe threads regarding Diana's appearance at ComiCon:

Metting for Dinner on Friday (10/8)
Diana at ComiCon

Sheila (at CS) would like a head-count for dinner by Monday, September 12th. Also, Maria V on CS is arranging for group discount tickets.

So, lassies ~ who all can make it? Once we have a head count I'll let Sheila know how many from our group will be attending.

DG normally lists her upcoming book tours on her website and recently mentioned that she will be attending Comic Con NYC at the Javits Center in October. Very little information is currently available, but here is the Comic Con NYC link.

I could SO do comic con in October. A bunch of the OutlanderPurgatory gals were talking about it, too. It would be the perfect Outlander get-together!

New York is doable and October is my daughter's birthday. I could volunteer to "celebrate her birthday" in New York. Are these tickets difficult to get? Do they have to be pre-reserved ahead of time? When you get details, please post because this would be so much fun!

Costantino, tickets can be purchased online via this LINK.
Unfortunately the list of writers/guests is not posted yet, so we can't confirm that DG will definitely be there.

Jayne, I'm so there with you, if Diana will be.
That would be the perfect get together.
You don't have to ask twice.

Thanks for the new link, Lady Jayne! It has more info than the link I googled a few days ago, which just had dates. Is there any word from DG which day she'll be there? Thanks!

NE, I'll be there with Lady Jayne. We will have to arrange to meet.
I live two hours north of NYC too.

Great. I will post more information under the Comic Con thread and coordinate a time for the OLBC members to meet on the day that DG is scheduled to appear. More to follow . . .

Update: DG recently confirmed on Compuserve that she will be going to ComicCon NY, but she does not know which exact day. See her comments here.

On a trip to NYC this weekend I found a Scottish Pub a few doors down from our hotel, it looks like a place we'd maybe like to include on the Comic Con visit?

http://www.standrewsnyc.com/tradition.html

I didn't get a chance to go inside since we had our kids (aged 10 & 14) with us, but it looked like a great place! In reading the info on the web site, the staff actually wear kilts, they have every Scotch imaginable, and the menu looks wonderful!

NE that restaurant looks like a place I'd like to bring my DH. I'm bent on his wearing a kilt and this is the perfect place for him to sport his new outfit. He'd fit right in, even if he is of Irish descent. I'll dye his hair red for a day. Jayne, can you see him now? I think he'd look rather smashing, actually. I'll have to shop for the kilt in earnest now.
