So do we just enter here on the thread?
"Dinna be afraid," he said. "There's the two of us now."
How can you not love it? Sweet Jamie being so protective and warm in the awkwardness of their quickly arranged marriage. He was amazingly composed given the rather odd circumstances.
Did I do that right? If not let me know and I'll try again. (Oh, and was that noon eastern? I'm 3 minutes early in my central time zone.)

OK, and a second one since I happened to have Outlander 20th anniversary edition sitting next to me, and then I'll stop because I have other things to do and I want to let others post, too. "Ah, Jamie's home, then." I love this quote because I love how calm Ian is upon meeting Claire for the first time and hearing Jamie and Jenny screaming at each other from the house. He's clearly dealt with Frasers (and their tempers) for a very long time. . . ETA: Oh, wait. It's supposed to be a Jamie or Claire quote. Sorry. This probably doesn't count. ETA again: Oh, I see it does count. And, I have to say that I'm glad because I adore Ian and this first appearance of his sealed that immediately.

I was feeling bad that I lied about stopping because I couldn't resist this one from Dragonfly, but since the previous one might not count anyway, maybe it's not so bad. "I'll leave it to you, Sassenach," he said dryly, "to imagine what it feels like to arrive unexpectedly in the midst of a brothel, in possession of a verra large sausage." I love the image and the dry humor and the fact that Jamie can see it so well despite the real danger he was in at the time (not too long past).

Ugh. This is kind of addicting and I keep thinking of another I want to include. "When the day shall come, that we do part," he said softly, and turned to look at me, "if my last words are not 'I love you'-ye'll ken it was because I didna have time." That is just so sweet and romantic. And, that's the end of Fiery Cross when they've been together for years and their love remains so strong. (I wish I had electronic versions, which would make this easier! And, I look forward to other people's contributions. I really do need to do something else. . .)

Now, I feel bad that I have all Jamie quotes and no Claire, so here's one from DiA:
"Go to hell. Go directly to hell. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200."
I love Claire's sense of humor and I'm always amused when she mentioned anachronisms and Jamie is confused but accepts that. I also love that she was following his instructions, but did it in an entertaining way despite her embarrassment about having to leave the lunch and not feeling well.

And, one more, along the same lines from Claire in Outlander (more than once, and in other books too):
"Jesus H. Roosevelt Christ."
Once again, I love the little anachronisms Claire throws in. I also love that she isn't afraid to curse even though it isn't ladylike or very appropriate in that time and place.

audio, those are all good!!!
From Outlander (pg 414) "I prayed all the way up that hill yesterday," he said softly. "Not for you to stay; I didna think that would be right. I prayed I'd be strong enough to send ye away."
This is one of my very favorite Jamie quotes. If I wasn't in absolute love with him before this, this quote sealed the deal. It showed Jamie's heart, his true soul and his love for Claire. He did what was right, despite what he wanted, he did what he knew was best for Claire. That sort of self-sacrifice is such a rare thing.

"I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have." I love this quote it's one of my favorites. Jamie is such a strong a stable source but this quote shows his weakness. Claire is his weakness and that is incredibly humbling.

You can enter *any* quote from the books - not just from Jamie and Claire!

"I talk to you as I talk to my own soul," he said, turning me to face him. He reached up and cupped my cheek, fingers light on my temple. "And Sassenach," he whispered, "Your face is my heart." THIS IS MY FAVORITE QUOTE! I love all of Outlander...but this quote OMJ, I cry everytime I read it. We all know what happens in DIA and this quote just sums up the pain in the ending in one little paragraph. Claire just isn't Jamies wife. She's every part of him. When he loses her, he's losing his very soul and his heart. HOW touching and heartbreaking. I love it.

"Oh, eye, Sassanach" he answered a bit ruefully, "I am your master and you are mine."
I love this.. it is showing the deep love that is growing between the two.. more than just "hey, I like you love.. I'm going to give this whirl love" but more of a soul tearing love. This is how all women want to be loved LOL

"I will find you," he whispered in my ear. "I promise. If I must endure two hundred years of purgatory, two hundred years without you - then that is my punishment, which I have earned for my crimes. For I have lied, and killed, and stolen; betrayed and broken trust. But there is the one thing that shall lie in the balance. When I shall stand before God, I shall have one thing to say, to weigh against the rest."
His voice dropped, nearly to a whisper, and his arms tightened around me.
Lord, ye gave me a rare woman, and God! I loved her well."
THIS! Is why DIA is my favorite book. Some of the most romantic things Jamie says comes from these books. And some of the most heartbreaking ones also. I have a thing for books that can pull at your heartstrings. And DIA and the words that Jamie utters in it...they do the job right.

Also, I'm just now in Breath of Snow and Ashes.. I'm an outlander newbie LOL, so I've been cautious on the boards about reading too much for fear I will spoil it for myself... but this book is probably my favorite so far (LOL, I've said that with all of them)
"Ian, there is a woman in my bed," he said in Gaelic, trying to match his nephew’s calm tone. "There are two of them, Uncle Jamie." Ian sounded amused, damn him! "The other will be down by your feet. Waiting her turn." That unnerved him, and he nearly lost his grip on the captive hand. "Two of them! What do they think I am?" The girl giggled again, leaned over, and bit him lightly on the chest. "Christ!"
I love this one because we get to see a little bit of the young, happy Ian. I've not found out yet what is hurting Ian's soul... but this tells me that 'our' Ian is still in there, somewhere.
