I thought you might be interested to see all the different book covers there have been for STAR GAZING so far. (Italy and Poland still to come.)

Image

The original UK cover. They did a re-design at the last minute because a major retailer didn't like this cover. This is the only cover I consider to be accurate. It also had little raised silver stars. I was heartbroken when they ditched this. I think the book would have sold much better with this cover.

Image

The fabulous Spanish cover. It's all wrong of course - Marianne never wore blue and her hair was ash blonde, but this cover says "Pick me up and buy me."

Image

The horrible, horrible large print/audio cover. Keir (kneeling) looks like an alien. In fact the whole thing looks like a sci-fi poster. And whoever thought mustard yellow would sell books?!

Image

The Russian cover. The Russians obviously see romance... er... differently.

Image

The German paperback.

Image

The German hardback cover (starring Angeina Jolie. :rotfl: )

Image

The Portuguese cover showing Eilean Donan Castle on the mainland.

Image

The final UK cover - completely wrong. Marianne never wore blue and Keir's hand would have been twice the size of hers. And is that nail polish she's wearing?... But she's blind! :thud:

I love the original cover. What the heck did the major retailer not like???

The German paperback is pretty nice, too.

I couldn't see the nail polish on my version, but that is rather silly.

LOL I noticed the nail polish, but not the blue sleeve. I like the first one best, too.

It might be that I just didn't look closely enough to see the nail polish and I don't have it to check, but I never did notice the nail polish.

I prefer what would have been the original cover - I noted the blue sleeve but never noticed the nail varnish...
Covers are so important - I fail to see what was wrong with the original, and I agree it may well have sold more copies for you...
