I thought I’d give this a whirl and see what all the fuss was about, so I listened to One for the Money. It was very entertaining on audio book, and the story was lots of fun (although one of the villains could give Black Jack Randall a run for his money in a sadism contest). The characters are charming; I especially loved Grandma Mazur. I’ll definitely listen to more, at least as long as C. J. Critt is the reader.
Anyone else read/listen to these?

I just saw One for the Money with my sisters and while I like to listen to Janet Evanovich's books which tend to be on the lighter/fun side, the movie was a little out there. She's a lingerie saleswoman who becomes a bounty hunter? I like Katherine Heigl but they should have casted a more Jersey Girl in the role to make it somehow believable. All in all, it was a fun night out with the sisters, but it felt like more of a Lifetime Channel movie than the big screen.

I love these books as cotton candy fluff between steak and potatoes feasts like Outlander and Game of Thrones. You do have to suspend belief--there is no way that our heroine (or Grandma Mazur) could survive all the blown up cars and buildings and forays into gang infested neighborhoods without a scratch. Yet these are laugh out loud hilarious adventures and way over the top.

I read One for the Money over the summer after having it sit on my shelf for years (my sister had read it on a plane flight to visit and left it here for me). I enjoyed it. It was a fun, quick read. But, I haven't gotten to any more of them. Some day I will.
