One month last year, my online book club (generally just two people, I'm afraid, although we have a good time with it) chose Sanditon, an 11-chapter novel fragment left unfinished when Jane Austen died. At the time, I rather foolishly thought the copy on the shelf in my library must be THE completed version and picked it up. It turns out many people have completed and published their own versions of this fragment, and maybe I'll get around to reading more of them, but I simply loved the one that was completed in the 70s by Marie Dobbs. I especially like the way the two main characters go back and forth, playfully thwarting each other, but the sweet little side romance of two minor characters brought together by seaweed is wonderful too.

Has anyone else read this version? What about other versions-any recommendations?

i think I read this same version last year (certainly I read a version by Jane Austen and Another Lady) and I really enjoyed it, too. I thought it was done well in Jane Austen's style.

I have this on my bookshelf (not sure who mine is completed by), but I've never got around to reading it. I'm sure i will one day.
