I loved Time Traveler's Wife, but found Her Fearful Symmetry mostly just weird. I know some people who said they thought it was better than TTW, but that was certainly not my opinion. I'd actually heard pretty good things about the TTW movie, but I haven't seen it.

Of course, Henry and Mudge. And, Poppleton. And, the Berenstain Bears. Etc. My kids are actually past those books, which is a little sad. *sniff*

We read some of the same stuff and there are several on your list that I've read in the year or two earlier. Lots of books about food this year, I see. I hate to cook, so I don't tend to read many cookbooks, but I've read several things by Michael Pollan and others about food issues. And, I just found out that my 7th grader will be reading The Omnivore's Dilemma (or groups of students will read different parts and present about them or something) and I'm really excited because it was a great book. :-)

Have you (or your son) read The Vegetarian Myth? Really good. I'll look for Omnivore's Dilemma ~ haven't read that one yet. I personally consider Nourishing Traditions to be an absolute essential for any home. It's a cookbook and nutritional treatise in one.

Umm, I think In Defense of Food was written by Michael Pollan, not Karen Marie Moning.

I haven't read either The Vegetarian Myth or Nourishing Traditions. I'll add them to my (disturbingly long) suggested books list and see what I can get to. Thanks for the recommendations! :-)
