1) A Discovery of Witches (seems we all like this one! can't wait for the sequel in July!)

ABL - The Connie Willis books are getting much closer to the top of my "to read" pile! Really looking forward to these, although I think I want to read her two earlier (and related to these) books first: The Doomsday Book and To Say Nothing Of The Dog.

Could talk about books all day...

Couldn't we all?

I am on the wait list for the sequel to DoW at my library so I should get it first when it's ready (assuming I am not traveling at the time). I've read both Doomsday Book and TSNotD and liked them both a lot even though they are very different styles. I would definitely recommend them. Doomsday Book is more similar to Blackout/All Clear and TSNotD is much more humorous, but they are all excellent. There is also a short story called Fire Watch that is available free, and with the author's consent, here: http://azsf.net/cwblog/?page_id=49 that would be good to read before Blackout.

The Doomsday Book remains one of my favorites...there is a line in it uttered by the young historian that remains my favorite explanation for why any of us study history: *** Spoiler alert***

"I wanted to come, and if I hadn't, they would have been all alone, and nobody would have ever known how frightened and brave and irreplaceable they were."

Gives me shivers every time.
