While doing a little google research on Scottish women warriors, I came across this author. Have any of y'all read her? She's a Scot who writes fiction and non-fiction, and two n/f titles REALLY caught my eye. How about these? "Bare Arsed Banditti, The men of the '45". and "Damn Rebel Bitches, The Women of the '45". Am going to start looking for them! If you've read her, please post. :thanks:

I haven't read any of Maggie Craig's work but did come across references to her books whilst doing some research for White Rose Rebel BOTM...

Maggie's web site is Here

I'm not sure how available her books are - but you could always try Amazon marketplace or ebay

“Sassenach." He had called me that from the first; the Gaelic word for outlander, a stranger. An Englishman. First in jest, then in affection.”

sassenach, I looked at her website then at Amazon, and eBay. There are a few books available, mostly used, as you would expect. I don't often read Amazon reviews, but I did for the Rebel Bitches. One person wrote that the book was Written from an entirely modern perspective, Craig takes the stance that these women of Scotland were the exception rather than the norm. The reviewer definitely disagreed. Seems as if historians and even casual researchers into 18th century Scottish history regarding the widespread political prominence of women is still hotly debated.
