Here are the ideas we came up with : Reading a set number of books in the year - example 50 ~ you choose your own fifty books Reading books from genres you wouldn't normally choose ~ we can choose a group genre and you can then find a book that appeals to you Reading 26 books by Authors in Alphabetical order ~ choose your on books Reading a set number of pages each month - you choose what works for you

This will be my third year keeping track of my books and I must say I really enjoy the challenge. I love reading cookbooks, and they (quite nicely) add up quickly!
My plan is to
1) read 100 books; and 2) read the ABC list within those 100

Wait! Is the alphabet challenge to get 26 authors, one with each starting letter? Or the titles starting with each letter?
I plan to read at least 100 books (likely more given recent years) and I do tend to cross genres. The alphabet idea is interesting too, though some letters sound pretty challenging ("X"?).

On my 16yo daughter's Summer 2010 Bucket List was to read 26 books with the title from each letter of the alphabet. When I asked her if I could do some letters for authors, her response was, "Well, gee, Mom ~ it's your challenge, not mine." I never did finish the 26 letters for 2010.

Count me in. Should we give a monthly update or just add onto our original post as we proceed?
