I'm hopelessly lost in terms of the timeline. I did read the companion book, but that was a while back.

But, new things keep coming up - like the flashbacks with Darius and Tohr that filled in several things - so I figure we'll learn more as the series continues. And, then I'll have more info not to be able to keep track of. :rotfl:

JM, I cried with Thor and the dress and when X decided to wear it knowing how much it would mean to JM for her to do that. I know Chickie didn't like that part because she thought it was out of character for X but I just loved that she could accept that she could be a strong woman and still show a feminine side for the one she loved!

I didn't see No'One coming! That was a shocker for me. I had already figured out that the ghost was a vamp but was surprised by who it was.

I love that these stories can be complex, which was unexpected for me when I started it.

:agree: with all you said.
I didn't think I would like them as much as I do.

Also, X & the dress, it is OK to show a side of us we don't normally allow for others we love.

I was also quite surprised by No'One, though I knew she was becoming more of a focused on character. I figured out early on that the ghost was a vampire and by somewhere in the middle of the book I had figured out which one, wince Murhder had been mentioned a few times. And, once the producer guy went up and met him and he made the comment that people say he is crazy, I was sure.

I found the complexity of the world and the story an unexpected surprised, but I think that's what keeps me reading. I enjoy the books and find them oddly addictive, but if they were just romances, without the complex world, I don't think I'd be as excited about them.

:agree: totally. The BDB is most addicting! I mentioned to Joanne that No One's name should now be changed to 'One'. No One is such a negative and hurtful nomenclature.

You're welcome Joanne. As it's said in Spanish, "No hay paraque." (There is no need to thank me). To have a dear friend enjoy books as much as I do, and to be able to chat and share w/you about them, makes it so wonderful for me. So, yhea, I did it for a selfish reason!!

Aye, the dress!! Yes, I had an issue w/Xhex wearing the dress. I could see her perhaps in a dress, but a leather dress...with a garter where she could hold her knife. But then again, if that's the extent of my issues w/LM, then I'll live! I very much enjoyed the exploration of the relationship between Quinn & Blay. It truly struck me as an intimate look into a very tender and complex situation. I look forward to reading more about them in the future.

I really want more of their story too Chickie. And I could see her in a leather dress and who is to say she didn't have her blades under her gown! I could so see that with her!

Do we have any ideas when the next book is due?

I don't know if anyone has asked this before, however, since JRW mentions the guests at John & Xhex's wedding, why wasn't Rev & Ehlena there??

The story mentions that all the brothers and their shellans, and the Moors, i Am and Trez were invited, however, nothing is said about Rev. Ehlena is mentioned while Doc Jane works on Payne and Xhex, but we don't hear about the pair attending the wedding. Is Rev considered a BDB?

I thought Rhev was mentioned as being there. If not in the book, I am almost certain that JRW said he was in a recent interview. I don't have a link, but I'm 99.999% sure that I Heard that.

I liked this book a little more than the previous ones because the plot became more complex and the porn a little less (sorry just MO). I figured at some point all of these plots would come together but since I missed a few earlier books didn't have the whole Muhrder background. It sounds as if he reignites romance or something between couples who stay at the B&B. The couple leaving is fully in love as the producer/reporter check in and he seems to make them appreciate one another also. Could it be atonement for not appreciating Xhex until it was too late??

I could have pictured Xhex getting married in red/black leathers but it was closure of a sort for Tohr to pass on the gown as tradition required and for he and Xhex to move forward as Darius constantly advised them.

The Blay/Quinn dynamic made for a good subplot. It's always tragic when couples deny their feelings based on appearances or expected mores. I have a feeling that Sexton is going to get left out in the cold as these two discover their true feelings for one another and truly mate.
