I love that JRW gave us the gift of Nalla's birth. The end of LAw jumped us 20 months to where we see the happy family, w/out knowing how they got there. We needed to know that Z would have struggled w/his role as a father after Nalla's birth. In LEn we see Z's stress of dealing w/the possibility of Bella not surviving the pregnancy, but we don't see the afterward. I also applaud JRW's inclusion of Mary's role to assist Z through his past.

The additional story of Zsadist and Bella was a very nice gift of the guide.

Just finished "Father Mine". Sooo touching, I love Z!!!

I like that JRW included the darker side of parenting. Both for men and women. How life really changes after the birth of a child, I thought that was wonderful.

Z-what can I say, his awful past is such a struggle for him to overcome.

I wish him and JM would open up to each other and talk about it. The similarities of their bodies being used.

:agree: I also like that he started speaking to Mary and I love the doctor Jane sent him too, a nice guy, True???

Very true. I am glad he opened up to Mary too. It is the real start to healing. And I love how he is with Nalla. Can you say daddy's little girl...

We do read in Phury's book and see more, and more where Z and JM form a very tight bond based on their similar experiences. Interesting since if you recall Wellsie told JM to stay away from Zsadist, (when she saw him waving a JM after riding home on the bus w/him from training school). It turned out that Z was the one brother that JM could count on the most when Wellsie is murdered and Tohr is missing.

True...Wellsie did say that, excellent point. She was, I think, afraid that Z would be a bad influence for JM or perhaps hurt him, but instead he has been the most helpful. :thanks:

You know, I'm thinking  , I wonder what Darius and Z relationship was like???
Wonder if there was something there that caused the SV to put JM in this sitch with Z??? Am I making sense???

You might remember, in Dark Lover, when Zsadist first meets Beth, she is asleep on her father's bed, (Darius). He makes an overt attempt to make a move on her by unzipping his leathers, until Wrath shows up and tells Zsadist to leave but first tells him that Beth is the daughter of Darius. Once Z hears this information, he apologetically zips up his leather pants and tells her it was nice to meet her.

After Wrath explains to Beth who he thinks Zsadist is, he tells her:

"I don't want to scare you, but I need you to take this seriously. Zsadist's an animal, but I think he respected your father, so he may leave you alone. I just can't take any chances with him. Or you. Promise me that you'll stay away from him."

So, although Wrath isn't absolutely sure, there is an idea that Z and Darius were okay w/one another.

I think it was Wrath, not the SV, who decided that JM was to take walks w/Z. Lover Revealed:

"As John nodded, the king said, "And one more thing. Every night at four A.M. you're taking a walk with Zsadist."

John blew a whistle in an ascending note.

"Why? Because I said so. Every night. Otherwise, you're out of the training program and you're out of here. Dig? Wistle twice if you understand me and agree to this."

John did as he asked.

Then he awkwardly signed thank you. And left.

I thought the Brothers on the Board was very funny and insightful.
The humor is one of my favorite parts about these books.

Probably my favorite part Chickie. I love their story. I also loved JR interviewing the brothers!

AG, Did you get a chance to read the Z & Bella story yet?

It's there where you find lots of small details re: the BDB's day in ~ day out life. ie, Z going to buy diapers for Nalla. We know that it would be simple to have one of the Doggen go out and get the diapers, however, having Z do it for his daughter, adds another soft layer to this truly endearing character.
