Book Four: Butch's Story

Left for dead, found by a miracle, the Brotherhood calls on Marissa to bring him back, though even her love may not be enough to save him...

I was never a fan of either of these characters until I read the book. I understand them so much now and can't help but love them.

I am up to chapter 13 & I am liking it a lot.

Does Marissa start a shelter or something for women and girls???

I really liked it. Butch was extremely patient with Marissa, wish I could of heard what the other shellans said to her.

I love V & Butch's relationship, it often brought me to tears.

I actually liked that J R introduced a lot of other stuff in it.

One thing that I lost was, who is Butch's real dad???

I liked that a change is taking place in strategies, both with a Women's shelter and the fight.

To "butcher" something is to destroy it. BUTCH=DHESTROYER

Also, it seems to be consistant in this series, so far, Butch was an outcast in his family as was Marissa in hers. Marissa noted that Butch was always on a path of self destruction, but she was also, by letting others lead her.

I enjoyed all of the rituals in this book. Finding Butch's blood line, changing him and making him a Brother, real interesting.

I can understand JM's aggravation w/Marissa. She always made me want to shake her into understanding Butch's side; here is this human, he finds out what he truly is ~ and it's a chance for the two of them to spend forever together. It also provides him w/a purpose. He is the key, the answer to the war w/the lesser's. Yet, Marissa's all, what about me? I can't take, I can't stand, I can't....

As you can see, I have exasperations about her!

In the end, Marissa's safe house becomes her redeeming quality!

Butch's mother tells his sister Joyce, a story of when she was a nurse, she had a tryst w/the chief surgeon, 'he was beautiful and different and very important. Frightening, too. His eys, I see them still in my dreams." I believe that Butch's dad was a vamp. That's why Ed O'Neal disliked Butch so much; bc Butch wasn't his own biological son.

Thanks Chickie, that part I got. What I thought I missed was precisely who this vamp was, guess J R didn't include that info.

Not that I recall, it seems like it may come up later though.

I was thinking we found out in a later book but I could be wrong. It has been a while since I read them.

Oh, no, we don't find out who the vamp surgeon was. Perhaps JRW will clue us in during LU next April. It is Payne and Manny's story. It has been said that Manny & Butch are brothers ~ same father, different mother.

A revamp of the BDB Tink is always a nice place to go.
